Classic Elegance with a Contemporary Blue Accent

This apartment brings together contemporary simplicity and subtle references to classic design. A light colour palette, inspired by the 2026 Colour of the Year, creates a calm backdrop for natural wood, decorative mouldings, brass details and statement lighting. The architect retained most of the original wall layout while rethinking how each room would be used. Removing a small section of wall created a better connection between the kitchen and living room while partially screening the worktop. The living room, dining area and kitchen now form one cohesive, open-plan space, while the additional room has been designed as the owner’s sewing studio.

Bespoke furniture plays an important role throughout the interior. Tall display cabinets and generous fitted wardrobes provide ample storage without compromising the sense of lightness. The compact bathroom required particularly careful planning to accommodate a bath, a wide washbasin and practical cabinetry. Light-coloured fronts, a large mirror, glossy tiles and layered lighting make the room feel more spacious. The blue accents add freshness while also recalling the owners’ holiday memories of Turkey.
