Polish Design and Minimalism
Decometry with Burgundy Accents
This interior of a fully completed apartment is rooted in minimalism enriched with touches of decometry. The architect consciously built the composition around large, uniform planes of wood in shades of grey and beige, introducing concealed doors and a continuous floor running through almost the entire interior. A burgundy bookcase and a designer extractor hood were conceived as a bold focal point within the living area, structuring the space and giving it a clear identity. The design consistently features solutions from Polish brands, highlighting quality, attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to design.
- Property Type: Apartment
- Size: 93 m²
The concept was based on limiting horizontal divisions and refining the geometry of the volumes, which required precise material selection and carefully crafted bespoke joinery to level out differences in ceiling heights. Semi-circular details – lighting, handles and softly rounded mirrors – soften the built-in geometry and introduce subtle dynamism, while accents in shades of red act like jewellery.
“Transforming a separate WC into a bathroom with a shower, and creating a walk-in wardrobe by the bedroom at the expense of reducing the size of the main bathroom with a bathtub, allowed the layout’s full potential to be realised. Such decisions genuinely enhance everyday comfort and improve functionality, particularly when the apartment is intended to accommodate several residents.”
